About Stride & Strength
Buying guides for people who'd rather work out than read spec sheets — so we read the spec sheets for you.
What we do
Stride & Strength publishes in-depth buying guides for home fitness equipment, starting with walking pads and adjustable dumbbells — the two categories where small spec differences make the biggest real-world difference (a pad that's 5 dB louder, or a dumbbell with a mushy dial, will annoy you daily).
How we rank products
- Spec verification. We pull motor power, weight capacity, belt size, adjustment increments, and dimensions from manufacturer documentation — and we say so when a brand won't publish a number.
- Price tracking. We check current street prices and call out fake "sales" that are really everyday prices.
- Safety records. We search the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recall database before recommending anything. If a popular product has an active recall, we say so prominently and recommend alternatives.
- Owner feedback. We read hundreds of verified-purchase reviews to catch the problems spec sheets hide: wobbly handrails, dials that stick, customer service that ghosts you.
- No pay-to-rank. Brands cannot pay for placement. Our rankings are the same whether or not we earn a commission on a product — and many of our top picks earn us nothing at all.
How we make money
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them, the retailer pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. That's what funds the research. Our full policy is on the affiliate disclosure page.
Corrections
Specs change and we make mistakes. If you spot an error, tell us and we'll fix it — we'd rather be corrected than wrong.
